Bio

When I am not reading or writing philosophy, I enjoy hiking, running, and playing bluegrass music on the fiddle.

Research

I study questions about our beliefs in ordinary objects: the midsize material things we seem to see and interact with daily. Most recently I have explored object debunking arguments that appeal to the limits of our evolved perceptual capacities, potential anti-skeptical responses originating in externalism about mental content, and potential positive arguments that ordinary objects are indispensable for science.

I also have research interests in Philosophy of Language, Normative Ethics, and Ancient Philosophy.
