Research Abstract

My chief area of interest in philosophy is the History of Philosophy, especially the philosophies of Arthur Schopenhauer and Friedrich Nietzsche. The question of how integral a part Schopenhauer’s ideas played in influencing the philosophy of Nietzsche—both his early and late works—is an area of research that holds a great degree of interest for me. I also harbor a fervent interest in the British philosophers, Berkeley, Locke, and Hume, in addition to the philosophy of Kant. However, my interest is not restricted to the sphere of modern philosophy alone, for I also have a keen fascination with Greek philosophy. I also have a strong interest in the field of aesthetics, as well as philosophy and literature. The latter is especially appealing as the works of Aeschylus, Shakespeare, Emerson, Goethe, and Tolstoy can all be viewed through the author’s own philosophical world-view, or in relation to an established philosophical viewpoint.
