| Research Abstract
My current research interest is modality, particularly modal skepticism and its implications for the Realism/anti-Realism debate. I am also concerned with modal skepticism and its implications within the determinism debate, leaning towards an account of logical necessitarianism. That is, no event can be other than it is, but not for reasons involving causal relations (as is typical on the determinist side). Instead, this claim rests on the thesis that "possibility" is a fiction. On the nearly opposite end of the spectrum, I am interested in applied ethics (primarily environmental ethics) and political philosophy. In addition I enjoy many historical figures such as Hobbes, Hume and Nietzsche.
